Something New

(Originally written October 8th, 2021)

If I were to try to summarize my thoughts and experiences from my first week here in Kona, the word would be “WOW”. From the worship sessions to the teachings the Lord is doing new things in my heart and is breathing fresh life into my family. I’ve found an abundance of life-giving friendships and the peace offered from the Sabbath rest. My priorities are being aligned to spiritual truths. The beautiful surroundings of Hawaii are merely icing on the cake.

I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the Lord’s love for me and for others. I’ve seen the beauty of His love through my husband’s gentle leading in our family. I have seen pictures, I have heard the Lord speak, and countless testimonies of deliverance and restoration are prompting a deeper intimacy with Jesus in my life. I am beginning to experience the season I’ve longed for and it is already sweeter than I could have imagined.

Both my husband and I are falling deeper in love with Jesus. This is not something exclusive to our time here at YWAM. It is my hope and prayer that this will be an encouragement to you. That hearing these things will push you to go further; to seek after God and His heart more fervently, and to live from the intimacy of Christ that is already yours. It is my desire “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19).
